The 1461 Iced, 1461 Leo Zip, 1461 Elastic and 1461 Peppermint Green are all dropping throughout the spring/summer season. Each pair stays true to the shoe’s original build and heritage.

60 years ago, a new shoe rolled off the production line in Wollaston, Northamptonshire. It was designed for workers. Built to be more durable and comfortable than anything on the market at the time. Marketed as ‘a stout shoe made from all the same materials as the 1460’, it packed all the functionality and unmistakable markings of a DM’s boot into a sleek 3-eye profile. Exactly one year after the 1460, the 1461 was born.

This year our Original shoe hits 60, and we’re celebrating by releasing more editions than ever. The amped-up 1461 collection includes new shades, tech and hardware — inspired by our wearers and the DM’s vault.

Landing in January, the 1461 Peppermint Green is built from tough Smooth leather in a bold, archive-inspired shade. Set on a rugged air-cushioned sole, they’re marked by our signature yellow welt stitching.

Next to arrive in February: the 1461 Leo Zip is enhanced with standout eyelets and zip trims plucked straight from our archive. Crafted from Leo, a tough, tumbled new leather with a slight sheen, the shoes are welted on a rugged commando BEN sole and tagged with a yellow heel loop and welt stitching.

Dropping in March, the 1461 Elastic swaps laces for elastic straps, but otherwise, sticks rigidly to the shoe’s original construction. Easy to slip on or off, the shoes are made from Black Smooth leather and reinforced with yellow welt stitching.

Also arriving in March, the 1461 Iced adds a hard-hitting Ice outsole to our well-established silhouette. The new design pushes AirWair further than ever, exposing the welt and sole markings that have been ever-present on our footwear for six decades. Available in classic Black and Cherry Red leather, as well as statement Pale Pink, the summer-ready shoes are marked by our signature yellow welt stitching.
